King of the universe, who has sanctified us by your grace and has permitted us to kindle the Festival-light.

Blessed are you, O Lord our God! King of the universe, who has kept us in life, and has preserved us, and has enabled us to reach this season.

The master of the house says:

As a woman begins the Seder and gives light to the Passover table, so it was a woman who began the redemptive career of Messiah our Passover by giving birth to the Light of the World.

As it is written:

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Miriam. And he came in unto her, and said, Hail, you that are highly favored, the Lord is with you. But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this might be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Miriam, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name JESUS (Yeshua). He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. And Miriam said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called the Son of God … For no word from God shall be void of power. And Miriam said, Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to your word. And the angel departed from her. (Luke 1:26–38)

Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah was on this wise: When his mother Miriam had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privately. But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto yourself Miriam your wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she shall bring forth a son; and you shall call his name JESUS (Yeshua); for it is he that shall save his people from their sins. Now all this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the LORD through the prophet, saying, Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us. And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took unto him his wife; and knew her not till she had brought forth a son: and he called his name JESUS (Yeshua). (Matthew 1:18–25)

Again therefore Jesus (Yeshua) spoke unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life. King of the universe, Creator of the fruit of the vine.

Blessed are you, O Lord, our God! Sovereign of the universe, who has chosen us from among all peoples, and did exalt us above all nations, and did sanctify us with your commandments: and with love have you given us, O Lord, our God! (on the Sabbath say, Sabbaths for rest, and) solemn days for joy; festivals, and seasons for gladness: (the Sabbathday and) this day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the season of our freedom: a holy convocation, a memorial of the departure from Egypt: for you have chosen and sanctified us above all peoples: and (the Sabbath and) holy festivals have you caused us to inherit with (love and favor), joy and gladness. Blessed are you, O Lord! who sanctifies (the Sabbath and) Israel and the seasons.

Concerning the first cup it is written:

And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the apostles with him. And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: for I say unto you, I shall not eat it, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And he received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: for I say unto you, I shall not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. (Luke 22:14–18)

Instruct the guests to recline on the left side while drinking the wine of the Kiddush.

וּרְֿחַץ

First Washing of the Hands

The woman performs the washing of the hands.

The master of the house then says:

Concerning the washing, it is written:

Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus (Yeshua) knowing that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own that were in the world, he loved them unto the end. And during supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and goes unto God, arose from supper, laid aside his garments; and he took a towel, and girded himself. Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded. So he came to Simon Peter. He said unto him, Lord, do you wash my feet? Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do you know not now; but you shall understand hereafter. Peter said unto him, You shall never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash you not, you have no part with me. Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. Jesus said to him, He that is bathed needs not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and you are clean, but not all. For he knew him that should betray him; therefore said he, You are not all clean. (John 13:1–11)

כַּרְפַּם

Dipping of the Parsley

The master of the house instructs the guests to takes a sprig of parsley, dip it into the salt water, and then says:

Blessed are you, O Lord our God! King of the universe, who creates the fruit of the earth.

Eat the sprig of parsley.

Concerning the ceremony of carpas, it is written:

Now when even was come, he was sitting at meat with the twelve disciples; and as they were eating, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began to say unto him every one, Is it I, Lord? And he answered and said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me. The Son of man goes, even as it is written of him: but woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had not been born. And Judas, who betrayed him, answered and said, Is it I, Rabbi? He said unto him, You have said. (Matthew 26:20–25)

יַחַֽץ

Breaking of the Middle Matzah

The master of the house then breaks the middle matzah into two parts. One part is wrapped up in linen cloth and buried away until later for an afikomen.

The other part is placed on the top of the bag containing the three matzahs.

The master of the house then says:

Concerning the breaking of the middle matzah, it is written:

And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. (Luke 22:19)

The master of the house holds up the second part and says:

Lo! this is as the bread of affliction, which our ancestors ate in the land of Egypt; let all those who are hungry enter and eat thereof; and all who are in need come and celebrate the Passover. At present we celebrate it here, but the next year we hope to celebrate it in the land of Israel. This year (many of our brethren) are slaves, but the next year we all hope to be freemen of the land of Israel.

The matzah is unleavened [show that it is flat], it is striped [show that it is striped], and it is pierced [hold candle behind it to show holes]. Even so the Messiah was unleavened, that is, sinless. Even so the Messiah was striped, that is, by way of the Roman whip. Even so the Messiah was pierced, that is, by the nails in his hands and his feet and by the spear in his side.

Concerning the leaven, it is written:

Your glorying is not good. Know you not that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened, for Messiah our Passover is sacrificed for us: wherefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. (1 Corinthians 5:6–8)

Him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Concerning the stripes, it is written:

Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. (John 19:1)

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

Concerning the piercing, it is written:

They took Jesus therefore: and he went out, bearing the cross for himself, unto the place called The place of a skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha: where they crucified him … (John 19:17–18a)

… but when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they broke not his legs: howbeit one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and straightway there came out blood and water … For these things came to pass, that the scripture might be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. And again another scripture says, They shall look on him whom they pierced. (John 19:33–37)

And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they shall look unto me whom they have pierced; … (Zechariah 12:10)

מַה נִשְׁתַּנָה

The Four Questions

The cup is filled the second time.

The youngest of the company asks:

Why is this night different from all other nights? On all other nights we may eat either leavened or unleavened bread, but on this night only unleavened bread; on all the other nights we may eat any species of herbs, but on this night only bitter herbs; on all the other nights we do not dip even once, but on this night twice; on all other nights we eat or drink, either sitting or reclining, but on this night we all recline.

מַגִּיד

The Story of the Passover

The master of the house says the Passover service.

Because we were slaves unto Pharaoh in Egypt, and the Lord our God brought us forth from there, with a mighty hand, and an outstretched arm: and if the Most Holy, blessed be He! had not brought forth our ancestors from Egypt, we, and our children, and our children’s children, had still continued in bondage to the Pharaohs in Egypt; therefore, although we were all wise, all of us men of understanding and experience, all of us having knowledge in the law, it, nevertheless, is incumbent upon us to discourse of the departure from Egypt; and all those who largely discourse of the departure from Egypt, are accounted praiseworthy.

Blessed be the All-Present; blessed is He who has given the law to His people Israel; blessed be He whose law speaks distinctly of four children of different dispositions, namely, the wise, the wicked, the simple, and he who has not capacity to inquire.

The wise son says: What mean those testimonies, statutes, and judgments, which the Lord our God has commanded you? Then shall you tell him according to the laws of the Passover: They must not leave off after the Paschal lamb with a dessert.

The wicked son says: What is this service to you?—to you, not to him; and because He takes himself out of the collective body, He denies the essential thing; you should, therefore, blunt his teeth by saying: This is done because of that, which the Lord did for me, when I went from Egypt:, for me, but not for him; for had He been there, He would not have been thought worthy to be redeemed.

The simple son says: What is this? And then you shall answer him: With a strong hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt from the house of bondage.

But as for him, who has not capacity to inquire, you must begin to discourse: as it is said, And you shall show your son on that day, saying, this is done because of that which the Lord did for me, when I went forth from Egypt.

If you wish, at this point each guest may read a paragraph:

Our ancestors were ancient idolaters, but at present the Lord has brought us near to His service: as it is said, And Joshua said unto all the people, thus said the Lord, the God of Israel, your ancestors dwelled on the other side of the river (Euphrates) in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nahor; and served other gods. And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac; and I gave unto Isaac: Jacob and Esau; and I gave unto Esau Mount Seir for his possession: but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.

Blessed be He, who preserves His promise unto Israel; blessed be the Most Holy, who premeditated the end of the captivity, that He might perform what He had promised to our father Abraham, between the parts, as is said: And He said unto Abraham, know for certain, that your seed shall be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them, and they shall afflict them four hundred years. And also that nation whom they shall serve, will I judge; and they shall afterwards go forth with great substance.

And it is this same promise which has been the support of our ancestors, and of us also; for not one only has risen up against us, but in every generation there are some who rise up against us, to annihilate us; but the Most Holy, blessed be He, has delivered us out of their hand.

Search, and inquire, what Laban, the Syrian, intended to do to our father Jacob; for Pharaoh decreed the destruction of the males only; but Laban intended to root out the whole; as it is said: A Syrian had nearly caused my father to perish, and He went down into Egypt and sojourned there with a few persons, and there became a great, mighty and populous nation.

“And He went down into Egypt.” He was compelled thereto by the word of God, and sojourned there: by which we are taught that He did not go down to settle there, but only to sojourn; as it is said: And they (Joseph’s brethren) said unto Pharaoh: To sojourn in the land are we come: for your servants have no pasture for their flocks; for the famine is sore in the land of Canaan: now, therefore, please let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.

“With a few persons.” As it is said: With three-score and ten souls your ancestors went down into Egypt; and now the Lord your God has made you as the stars of heaven for multitude.

“And there became a nation.” By which we are informed, that the children of Israel were distinguished, even in Egypt, as a peculiar nation.

“Great and mighty.” As it is said: And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceedingly mighty, and the land was filled with them.

“And populous.” As it is said: I have caused you to multiply as the vegetation of the field, and you became considerable and great, and adorned with many beauties; your breasts are fashioned, and your hair grown, yet you are naked and bare.

And the Egyptians ill-treated us, afflicted us, and laid heavy bondage upon us. “And the Egyptians ill-treated us.” As it is said: Come, let us deal wisely with them, lest they multiply, and it come to pass, if it chance to be a war, they might also go over to our enemies, fight against us, and so get them out of the land.

“And they afflicted us.” As it is said: and they set over them taskmasters, to afflict them with their burdens, and they built for Pharaoh store-cities, even Pithom and Raamses. “And they laid heavy bondage upon us.” As it is said: And the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor.

And we cried unto the Lord, the God of our ancestors; the Lord heard our voice, and observed our affliction, our labor and our oppression.

“And we cried unto the lord, the God of our ancestors.” As it is said: And it came to pass in course of time, that the king of Egypt died, and the children of Israel sighed by reason of their bondage; and they cried, and their cry ascended unto God, by reason of their bondage.

“And the Lord heard our voice.” As it is said: And God heard their groaning, and remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and with Jacob.

“And observed our affliction.” As it is said: And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had knowledge of their affliction.

“And our labor.” This denotes the destruction of the male children, as it is said: Every son that is born, you shall cast into the river, but every daughter you shall save alive.

“And our oppression.” This denotes fatigue; as it is said: And I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians harass them.

And the Lord brought us forth from Egypt, with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm; with terror, and with signs and wonders.

And the Lord brought us forth from Egypt, not by means of an angel, nor by means of a seraph, nor by means of a messenger; but the Most Holy, blessed be He, Himself, in His glory; as it is said: And I will pass through the land of Egypt this night; and I will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both of man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt will I execute judgment; I am the Lord.

“And I will pass through the land of Egypt,” I myself and not an angel; “and I will smite all the first-born,” I myself, and no seraph; “and on all the gods of Egypt will I execute judgment,” I myself and not a messenger; “I am the Lord,” I am He and no other.

“With a strong hand.” This denotes the pestilence; as it is said: Behold, the hand of the Lord will be upon your cattle which are in the field, upon your horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep; a very grievous murrain.

“And with an outstretched arm.” This denotes the sword; as it is said: And a drawn sword, in His hand, stretched out over Jerusalem.

“And with terror.” This denotes the appearance of the Divine Presence; as it is said: Or hath God assayed to go and take unto Him a nation from the midst of another nation, by proofs, signs and wonders; by war, and a mighty hand; by an outstretched arm, and great terror according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt, before your eyes.

“And with signs.” This denotes the miracles performed with the rod; as it is said: And you shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs.

“And with wonders.” This denotes the plague of blood; as it is said: And I will show wonders in the heavens, and on the earth, blood and fire, and ascending pillars of smoke.

It may also be explained thus: “With a strong hand,” denotes two plagues. “With an outstretched arm,” two plagues. “With terror,” two plagues. “With signs,” two plagues, and “with wonders,” two plagues.

Instruct the guests to pour one drop of wine from their cup with a spoon while saying together each of the ten plagues.

The master of the house then says:

These are the ten plagues, which the Most Holy, blessed be He, brought on the Egyptians in Egypt, namely,

Blood,
Frogs,
Vermin,
Mixture,
Pestilence,
Boils,
Hail,
Locusts,
Darkness,
Slaying the First-Born.

And Jehovah spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of the month: it shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household: and if the household be too little for a lamb, then shall He and his neighbor next unto his house take one according to the number of the souls; according to every man’s eating you shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old: you shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats: and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at even. And they shall take of the blood, and put it on the two side posts and on the lintel, upon the houses wherein they shall eat it. And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roast with fire; its head with its legs and with the inwards thereof.

And you shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; but that which remains of it until the morning you shall burn with fire. And thus shall you eat it: with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste: it is Jehovah’s passover. For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am Jehovah. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. And this day shall be unto you for a memorial, and you shall keep it a feast to Jehovah: throughout your generations you shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever. (Exodus 12:1–14)

Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out, and take you lambs according to your families, and kill the passover. And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning. For Jehovah will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, Jehovah will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. And you shall observe this thing for an ordinance to you and to your sons forever. And it shall come to pass, when you are come to the land which Jehovah will give you, according as he has promised, that you shall keep this service. And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean you by this service? that you shall say, It is the sacrifice of Jehovah’s passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

And the children of Israel went and did so; as Jehovah had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

And it came to pass at midnight, that Jehovah smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the first-born of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the first-born of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead. And He called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, get you forth from among my people, both you and the children of Israel; and go, serve Jehovah, as you have said. Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also. And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, to send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We are all dead men. And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading-troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and Jehovah gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. And they despoiled the Egyptians. (Exodus 12:21–36)

Thus did all the children of Israel; as Jehovah commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they. It denoted that the Most Holy, blessed be He! passed over our fathers’ houses in Egypt; as it is said: And you shall say, it is the Lord’s sacrifice of the Passover, because He passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed their heads and worshipped.

Concerning the Messiah, it is written:

On the morrow He saw Jesus (Yeshua) coming unto him, and said, Behold, the Lamb of God, that takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29)

Again on the morrow John was standing, and two of his disciples; and He looked upon Jesus as He walked, and said, Behold, the Lamb of God! (Revelation 5:12)

Take hold of the matzah, show it to the guests, and say:

These unleavened cakes, why do we eat them? Because there was not sufficient time for the dough of our ancestors to leaven before the Supreme King of kings, blessed be He! appeared unto them, and redeemed them; as it is said: And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough, which they brought forth out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry; neither had they made any provision for themselves.

Take hold of the bitter herbs (horseradish), show them to the guests, and say:

This bitter herb, why do we eat it? Because the Egyptians embittered the lives of our ancestors in Egypt; as it is said: And they embittered their lives with cruel bondage, in mortar and brick, and in all manner of labor in the field; all their service, wherein they made them labor with rigor.

It therefore is incumbent on every Israelite, in every generation, to look upon himself, as if He had actually gone forth from Egypt; as it is said: And you shall declare unto your son, on that day, saying, This is done because of that, which the Lord did for me, when I came forth from Egypt. It was not our ancestors only that the Most Holy, blessed be He! redeemed from Egypt, but us also did He redeem with them as it is said: And He brought us from there, that He might bring us to the land which He swore to give unto our fathers.

We, therefore, are privileged to thank, praise, adore, glorify, extol, honor, bless, exalt, and reverence Him, who wrought all the miracles for our ancestors and us: for He brought us forth from bondage to freedom, from sorrow to joy, from mourning into holy days, from darkness to great light, and from servitude to redemption: and, therefore, let us chant unto Him a new song, Hallelujah!

Praise Jehovah. Praise, O you servants of Jehovah, praise the name of Jehovah. Blessed be the name of Jehovah from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, Jehovah’s name is to be praised. Jehovah is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. Who is like unto Jehovah our God, that has his seat on high, that humbles himself to behold the things that are in heaven and in the earth? He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the needy from the dunghill; that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people. He makes the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise Jehovah. Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, and said unto him, Tell us who it is of whom he speaks. He leaning back, as he was, on Jesus’ breast said unto him, Lord, who is it? Jesus therefore answered, He it is, for whom I shall dip the sop, and give it to him. So when he had dipped the sop, he took and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which came down out of heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. one only kid, one only kid.

And a dog came and bit the cat, which had devoured the kid, which my father bought for two zuzim; one only kid, one only kid.

Then a staff came and smote the dog, which had bitten the cat, which had devoured the kid, which my father bought for two zuzim; one only kid, one only kid.

Then a fire came, and burned the staff, which had smitten the dog, which had bitten the cat, which had devoured the kid, which my father bought for two zuzim; one only kid, one only kid.

Then water came, and extinguished the fire, which had burned the staff, which had smitten the dog, which had bitten the cat, which had devoured the kid, which my father bought for two zuzim; one only kid, one only kid.

Then the ox came, and drank the water, which had extinguished the fire, which had burned the staff, which had smitten the dog, which had bitten the cat, which had devoured the kid, which my father bought for two zuzim; one only kid, one only kid.

Then the slaughterer came, and slaughtered the ox, which had drunk the water, which had extinguished the fire, which had burned the staff, which had smitten the dog, which had bitten the cat, which had devoured the kid, which my father bought for two zuzim; one only kid, one only kid.

Then the angel of death came, and slew the slaughterer, who had slaughtered the ox, which had drunk the water, which had extinguished the fire, which had burned the staff, which had smitten the dog, which had bitten the cat, which had devoured the kid, which my father bought for two zuzim; one only kid, one only kid.

Then came the Most Holy, blessed be He! and slew the angel of death, who had slain the slaughterer, who had slaughtered the ox, which had drunk the water, which had extinguished the fire, which had burned the staff, which had smitten the dog, which had bitten the cat, which had devoured the kid, which my father bought for two zuzim; But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Jehovah: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people: and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah; for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says Jehovah: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more. And I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers.
